The shine of oil, part three
Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water, a new burst of oil was reported off Huntington Beach on Wednesday.
The slick, estimated to be about 20 meters wide and 150 meters deep, was spotted two nautical miles from the coast and south of Warner Avenue.
Authorities say the oil does not appear to come from a pipeline from an oil rig. The source of the oil has not been determined.
This is the third sighting of oil on the water near “Surf City” this year, the most recent having taken place in October.
