Batavia Chamber Announces ‘Grow Your Business’ Fellowship – Shaw Local
The Chamber of Commerce of Batavia announced on Tuesday a new scholarship program for certain small businesses who are members in good standing of the Chamber of Batavia.
A fund called the Grow Your Business Fellowship has been established, according to a Chamber press release.
One of the roles of the Chamber of Batavia is to be a catalyst for business prosperity, and the scholarship aims to help businesses develop the skills they need to thrive in any environment, the statement said.
“During the pandemic, it became clear that even if a small business had been successful before, it was not ready for the additional challenges created by the pandemic,” said Margaret Perreault, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. Batavia trade. “A thriving business community is crucial as it enhances economic viability and growth throughout the region.”
According to the statement, the purpose of the Batavia Chamber Grow Your Business scholarship is to subsidize the costs for businesses to work with outside resources. The Chamber of Batavia hopes that the selected Chamber members will create a sustainable business through the skills acquired in all areas of activity. To ensure the success of the program, the Chamber of Batavia partners with the Fox Valley Entrepreneurial Center, which will help assess business needs, provide expert advice and contribute to the Grow Your Business Scholarship Fund, says the press release.
The Batavia Chamber of Commerce donated $10,000 and FVEC is donating the remaining amount to provide two scholarships for the program.
“We invest in Batavia Chamber businesses and help ensure their future success,” Perreault said.
