From adoption to personal worship… Pinarayi Vijayan criticizes the incidents that harmed the CPM | CPM| setback for CPM
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has listed some incidents which have affected the reputation of CPM in the district. Addressing delegates gathered at the CPM district committee conference here on Friday, the CM criticized the series of incidents, including Anupama Chandran’s protest against the illegal adoption of children, which plunged the left in a difficult situation.
He also pointed out that the controversies over the involvement of SFI leaders in copying during the PSC review and tax evasion in the company have become a disgrace to the party.
“We should consider whether the party has taken the right position on the issue of child adoption,” the CM said.
“The report of the working committee mentions that the party system has weakened as some leaders are considering a seat in parliament,” noted the CM explaining the disciplinary action against VK Madhu.
In Aruvikkara constituency, CPM district deputy VK Madhu took a stand against party principles in the assembly elections. Although the split within the party has been settled, the difference of opinion between the leaders of some regional committees has created a divide. Party conferences also reflected this divide. Such incidents would not be encouraged, the CM said.
