Sohar International sponsors the Data Academy program for children at the Child Care Center

Muscat: With an inherent zeal to contribute meaningfully and improve the lives of individuals from different sections of society, Sohar International has spearheaded several thoughtful corporate social responsibility campaigns with an underlying goal of supporting knowledge sharing platforms. Reaffirming its role as a facilitator of socio-economic progress, the bank recently signed an agreement to sponsor the Data Academy training program for children at the Child Care Centre. The sponsorship, which will cover the training of 40 children from the center for a period of 10 days.

As part of the program, sponsorship from Sohar International will allow the center to organize the necessary materials to ensure that the program runs seamlessly and that the training remains uncompromising. The training program will focus on core subjects such as programming, arts, science, and math. Dedicated to providing the necessary intervention at every stage of a child’s educational journey, the program will feature two distinct categories to better meet their varied needs. While the first category concerns children from 5 to 10 years old, the second targets those from 11 to 15 years old.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Mr. Ahmed Al Musalmi, Managing Director of Sohar International, said, “The ability to deliver quality education to the masses is one of the main pillars to promote sustainable development.
