Tomah’s Hospice Touch wins top honors | Community

Tomah Health Hospice Touch has been named a 2022 Hospices Honors recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, a leading provider of billing and coding services, surveys and advanced analytics, according to an April 29 press release.

Hospice Honors is a program that recognizes hospices that provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s perspective. The award criteria were based on survey results from the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems program from October 2020 to September 2021.

The CAHPS program is a public/private initiative to develop standardized surveys of patient experiences of outpatient and residential care in commercial and Medicaid plans. Surveys have been developed with the Agency for Health Research and Quality. CAHPS data covers areas such as pain and symptom support, palliative care facility assessment, and communication with family. CAHPS results provide an indication of the extent to which healthcare organizations are meeting member expectations.

“Our quality scores that are publicly available on medicare.gov: Hospice Compare; testament to the highly trusted organization that we are,” said Heidi Stalsberg, Director of Hospice Touch.
